Bulky and shapeless but warm : BGSD Women's Thinsulate Filled Hooded Long Coat with Fox Fur Trim - Black M
I was looking for a really warm coat for this winter. Having had good luck with Thinsulate products in the past, I thought this would be perfect.
This coat was much larger than I anticipated, considerably larger through the bust than another coat of the same style & size that I ordered at the same time. While I loved the details of the front, I was disappointed at the lack of shape that it had. Even with the drawstring at the waist cinched in, I still felt very bulky. I did not care for the wrinkly appearance of the material. The fur around the cuffs was wide and beautiful. The fur around the hood was a bit of a disappointment, it was much skimpier, making it look off-balance against the cuffs. It did seem to be well made and I liked that the fur around the hood and cuffs was detachable.
I'm sure that this coat would be warm. But I found the other coat that I ordered at the same time, Jessie G. Women's Long Hooded Down Parka Coat with Fox Fur Trim, to be much more flattering with some very nice features that this coat did not have. It just suited me better and made me feel less bulky. Being 90% down and 10% feathers, it should be very warm, as well. It had no more bulk than the Thinsulate coat did. Both coats being the same price, the down coat seemed like a better choice for me. I prefer a more fitted shape and the coat looks quite classy. Based on the favorable reviews, I'm sure either would be an excellent choice.
